Have you ever wanted to visit Turkey Creek Nature Preserve but are unsure of what to expect? Join Jefferson County Greenways Naturalists to learn more about the preserve and how to safely and confidently spend time in the great outdoors. We will review how to navigate the preserve, appropriate attire for outdoor activities, outdoor safety, and how to make the most out of your time in nature. This program will include a guided hike and a moment to reflect at Turkey Creek’s natural waterfall. Turkey Creek 101 is geared towards our community members who are newer to outdoor recreation and is appropriate for all ages. All are welcome!
Accessibility: This family-friendly program includes a guided hike covering approximately 1 mile. There will be rest stops along the way. The hike will be on a dirt trail with small rocks and roots, featuring easy-to-moderate uphill and downhill changes. There are portable restrooms at the start and end of the hike.
