Join Alabama Audubon for their monthly Natur at Noon event at Ruffner Mountain. Every month, they offer an opportunity to join an hour-long Friday lunchtime walk that explores different locations in the state and its natural features. The November walk will be led by our Program Coordinator Andrew Lydeard, Alabama Audubon Ambassador Daniel Redwine, and our Fall Speaker Tamerra Jones!
The Habitat Garden that hugs the parking lot adds a diverse layer of habitat that provides cover and food for dozens of bird species, and the surrounding mature woodlands can be excellent places to see a variety of late fall migrant and winter woodland birds.
Accessibility: There are benches and accessible indoor restrooms. While the parking lot is paved, there is a moderate slope. The trails are dirt/gravel, have moderate changes in slope, and may have obstacles such as sticks, roots, and other debris.
