Do you love the little things? Do you seek all things slimy and squirmy? Do you want to meander through the mud, hunting for mucky bugs? Then join our naturalists at the Turkey Creek Pavilion, where you will learn about and discover many magnificent macros! This 2-hour program will include a lecture-style introduction to the history of Turkey Creek, a short, flat nature walk, and then we will conclude the program by dip-netting for macroinvertebrates in the creek. Come to this program ready to get wet and muddy!
Accessibility: The Pavilion at Turkey Creek is ADA-accessible, with air-conditioned bathrooms and water. The nature walk is approximately 1/4 mile on flat, grassy terrain with minimal roots and rocks. It may not be fully accessible to wheelchairs or strollers. The creek portion of this program will not be accessible to wheelchairs or strollers. The water will be approximately 2 feet deep. The stream has small rocks in it, and shoes will be required.
