Wild Alabama and Jefferson County Greenways are partnering to bring Forest Bathing to Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. Forest Bathing is a guided practice of deep connection in nature that offers evidence-based mental and physical benefits such as increased optimism, reduced depression, and lowered anxiety. Join Wild Alabama’s Certified Forest Bathing guides, Ann Markham Bailey and Janice Barrett, for a peaceful afternoon immersing yourself in nature.
Wild Alabama’s mission is to inspire people to Enjoy, Value, & Protect the wild places of Alabama. As a forest protection organization, Wild Alabama is committed to the Forest Bathing program as a way of helping the public understand and engage with our profound connection in the more-than-human world.
Anne Markham Bailey is a poet, author, ANFT Certified Forest Bathing guide, and Creative Content Coordinator for Wild Alabama. Janice Barrett is a painter and Education and Outreach Coordinator for Wild Alabama.
