Meadow Restoration and Invasive Plants Walk & Talk

Learn about the Red Mountain Park meadow restoration project from our Land and Water Conservation Director, Charles Yeager, along with Alabama Cooperative Extension agents, Lynn Dickinson and Dylan Taylor, who will lead a naturalist walk to discuss plant communities and the threats invasive species pose. During the walk, invasive species will be identified, and management strategies discussed.

The walk will be approximately 2 miles on flat terrain. Please wear appropriate shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray. Water will be provided at the beginning and end of the walk.

Red Mountain Pollinator Garden Workday

Calling all Volunteers! Come join our Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Lead, Larry Stephens, for our monthly Red Mountain Pollinator Garden workdays.

Birmingham Ultra Trail Society (BUTS) and Jefferson County Greenways are teaming up again to host the annual Darter Dash 5k and 10k. The race will be capped at 125 participants between the 5k/10k, so be sure to sign up before all spots are filled!
