Light up your summer evening at Ruffner Mountain as we hike along the Pipeline Trail in search of fireflies! You will enjoy an approximately 2-mile round-trip hike from the Eastern Trailhead to the Wetlands. Along the way, we will enjoy the magical light of the fireflies, and search for other nocturnal creatures, such as owls, millipedes, and moths. We may even see some synchronous fireflies!

Bring water, sturdy close-toed footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and headlamps/flashlights. UV lights are also encouraged so we can look for phosphorescent creatures. Bug spray is recommended.

Please park at the Eastern Trailhead, but do not block the gate. Additional parking can be found in the gravel lot across the street.

Accessibility: This 2 mile out-and-back hike is on flat trails made of gravel and loose soil surfaces with little to no elevation change. There is a Pavilion at the midway point where we will have some time to rest. There are no bathroom facilities at this program.

Disclaimer: This program has limited space available. Please register to attend.
If you register but are unable to attend, please email programs@jeffcogreenways.org so we can open the spot for someone else.
