Did you know that August is National Water Quality Month? Come to The Elements Learning Series - Water to learn about the importance of water quality to our local ecosystems and communities and to Alabama as a whole. We will have representatives from Jefferson County Greenways, Alabama Water Watch, and Black Warrior Riverkeeper discussing their organizations' work and answering questions in a moderator-led panel. Educate yourself about water quality and ways you can become involved in keeping our waterways clean.

Jefferson County Greenways is excited to present The Elements Learning Series. Many ancient cultures used four classical elements - earth, water, fire, air - to explain the universe. During 2026, we will use these classical elements as inspiration to discuss environmental issues affecting our local ecosystems. With community partners contributing their expertise, these programs offer a chance to learn how earth, water, fire, and air still contribute to the world around us.

Accessibility: This program is wheelchair accessible. Indoor restrooms will be available.

Disclaimer: This program has limited space available. Please register to attend.
If you register but are unable to attend, please email programs@jeffcogreenways.org so we can open the spot for someone else.
